This piece was developed as a means of demonstrating the Engineering Design Process that PLTW students use for developing solutions to problems. The narration explains the concept in an age appropriate way, while the visualizations provide an easily understood narrative of how the process could be applied to a problem. For this piece I partnered with one of our curriculum specialists to develop a script and then with our illustrator to storyboard out the visuals. Working with her, we came up with the story of Angelina having a hole in her umbrella. She and her classmate Milo decide to come up with a solution using the Design Process. From the initial illustrations, I added the animation to bring the story to life.
This piece also feature the opening animation I created, which was then used in all of our subsequent pieces.
